Baby elephant Mock Charge in South Africa

While we were on safari at Mala Mala in South Africa, this little baby elephant wasn't quite sure what to make of us, so he decided to mock charge us about five times. Gaye videoed it while I took pictures of the baby elephhant's antics.  It was very cute until his mommy asked us to leave! He charges us near the end of the video.

This video was taken at Mala Mala at the same time the previous elephant video was taken. This little elephant even trumpeted at us. He was very cute.

Lions hunting at night at Mala Mala in South Africa

We followed, videoed and took pictures of this pride of lions at Mala Mala in South Africa. The following morning we caught up with them on a cape buffalo kill where they stayed and feasted for the next two days.

Black Bears Nursing

This video is of black bears nursing in Minnesota at a place called Vince Shute Black Bear Sanctuary. I put a 600 mm lens on a 5D Mark II camera body to video the bear cubs nursing from a distance. It was a very precious moment.

Knight Inlet Grizzlies

These pictures were taken during the salmon run on the pacific coast in an area called Knight Inlet in 2007. We went with Tide Rip tours three times to watch grizzlies fishing, fighting, playing and generally behaving as bears do within their society.

Rio; our greenwinged macaw talking and barking at our dogs

Rio is our greenwinged macaw. He enjoys teasing the dogs. Rio is our mascot. He loves people and especially enjoys playing peekaboo with children. They hide, then he gets all excited, chases after them and screams "PEEKABOO!"

Sumer Wildlife, 2009

In the summer of 2009, I photographed a black leopard, a barbary lion, baby raccoons, and foxes, wolves and wolf puppies, coyote puppies and mink. I also visited Vince Shutte Black Bear Sanctuary in Minnesota where I photographed black bears and their cubs.

Knight Inlet  Grizzly Slideshow

In September, 2007 we photographed grizzly bears fishing. We were very lucky as we had perfect timing with the salmon run. We saw up to 17 grizzly bears fighting, playing, fishing, swimming and eating.

Black Bears Nursing video

This video of black bears nursing was taken at a safe distance with a 600mm lens. Watching the cubs nurse was a really great experience, although I wouldn't recommend it unless you are in a very secure, bear proof area.
